Harissa Houmous

Harissa Houmous

Houmous makes a great mid afternoon snack with carrots, peppers or rice cakes, here’s a spicy one that takes minutes to make.  If your not a spice fan substitute the Harissa Paste for Pesto.

  • 1 tin of chickpeas drained
  • 1 tbsp of sesame oil (or olive oil)
  • 1/2 of a lemon – juice only
  • 1 tbsp Tahini
  • 1 tbsp Harissa paste

Add all of the ingredients to a blender or food processor and blend into a smooth paste, serve with your favourite thing to dip in.  I love red peppers and cucumber for a refreshing snack.
